ANZ Bank to establish Chinese-language operation center in Chengdu

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd, the fourth-biggest bank in Australia, has recently said in a note that it will establish a Chinese-language operation center in Chengdu, Sichuan Province to back up its regular growth as well as development in the Chinese market.

The declaration was made by the Chief Executive Officer Mike Smith.

Meanwhile, the working center is said to be launched in the third month of next year. The center will offer up Chinese-language call center as well as back office services to ease ANZ Bank’s development in the country.

Sources also said that the ANZ Bank would also plan to hire around 300 people by the end of 2013.

Chengdu, with a large, well-educated staff, is a natural alternative as the location for ANZ Bank's China operation center.

The city has already set up a standing as one of China's major business processing destinations, said Smith.

As per statement released by ANZ Bankduring the last week, “It had obtained approval from China's banking regulator to set up a locally incorporated entity with initial registered capital of RMB 2.5 billion. The bank planned to double the number of outlets it owns in China over the next three years, as part of its effort to become a super regional bank in Asia.”
