China Nuokang records 10% increase in Q2 profit

China Nuokang Bio-Pharmaceutical Inc., which focuses in blood and cardiovascular treatments, has announced that the company’s profit in the three month period ended June 2010 increased by 10 percent.

The company attributed the overall growth to the sales from its major product.

In a statement, the company stated that sales of China Nuokang's bleeding control product, Baquting, grew by 8.2 percent to 77.8 million yuan ($11.5 million).

As per company’s release, it managed to earn around $2.9 million (19.4 million yuan), or 14 cents per American depositary receipts, in the second quarter of this year.

During the same period of last year, the company had earnings of 17.6 million yuan.

On the other hand, the companies profit had increased around 9 percent to touch the mark of $12.2 million (82.4 million yuan) from 75.8 million yuan.

The company's general and administrative expenditures has increased by 41 percent to ($1.7 million) (11.8 million yuan) largely because of share-based compensation expenditures and other costs linked to the company's development that comprises cost of recruitment and compliance-related costs.
