Taiwan to attend APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting

The two-day meet, which opened in Nara on Wednesday, is targeted at endorsing tourism exchanges among APEAC member nations.
The delegation group from Taiwan will be headed by transportation minister Mao Chi-kuo and Tourism Bureau Director-General Janice Lai.
Malaysia all set to host Bio-fashion show at MyBio Carnival

The report added that the carnival, organized jointly by the Malaysian Biotechnology Information Centre (MABIC), Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation and the centre, is the first event on biotechnology in Malaysia to help government’s steps to build up the segment.
Taiwan to open its First Flight School in Jan 2011

Meanwhile, the information was given by the leading civil aviation official.
Moreover, talking to media, the retired head of the Civil Aeronautics Administration, Billy Chang said that he aims to establish the school in eastern part of the country.
Further, he also added that there have been talks about setting-up of such a flight school in Taiwan for the past 30 years, but the idea has never been come into fruition.
Taiwanese urged to worship online to defend natural world

Moreover, the announcement was made just ahead of Tomb Sweeping Festival, when ethnic Chinese traditionally tour the graves of their ancestors to burn incense and paper offerings.
The practice not only affects the country’s air pollution but also causes fires, the cabinet-level Environmental Protection Administration warned.
President Ma inks Children’s Welfare Declaration

While talking to media, an interior ministry official said, “The declaration will vow to safeguard children's rights and protection, care for under-privileged children, and establish a more comprehensive childcare system.”
Taiwan donates 400 books to Columbia University library

While talking to reporters, the official said, “Taiwan's National Central Library has made the book donation to Columbia University's C. V. Starr East Asian Library.”

China setting up world’s largest high-speed rail network

While talking to media at a national meeting on rail construction, Minister of Railways, Liu Zhijun said, "By the end of 2012, China would have more than 110,000 kilometers of operational railways, including 13,000 kilometers of high-speed rail."
Taiwan all set to host world indigenous media conference

The meeting will be jointly hosted by Taiwan Indigenous Television (TITV) and Public Television Service.
The conference aims to provide a platform to local indigenous broadcasters ti link with indigenous media outlets all over the world, and expressing the country's rich and diversified aboriginal culture and natural beauty.
Taiwan to donate US$ 2 lakh to Chile

According to news sources, aroun 700 people had lost their lives in the earthquake.
